Top Sports Achievements – 2024-25

ABG National Chess Tournament (22-23 Dec 2025)

The ABG National Chess Tournament was held at Aditya Birla Senior Secondary School, Nagda from 22–23 December 2025. Lakshya Maurya of ABIC Renukoot represented the school at the national level. Lakshya Maurya of ABIC Renukoot represented the school at this prestigious platform and displayed exceptional strategic thinking, patience, and concentration throughout the competition. Chess, being a game of intellect and discipline, demands sharp analytical skills and unwavering focus—qualities that Lakshya demonstrated consistently in every match. Through exceptional performance and focus, he secured the Runner-up position, bringing national-level recognition to the institution.

Cycle Polo Federation Cup (13-21 Nov 2025)

The Cycle Polo Federation Cup was organized at Jodhpur, Rajasthan from 13th Nov 2025 to 21st Nov 2025. Three girls Ms Priti (XII-C), Ms Khushboo Yadav (IX-H) and Ms Kriti Kumari (IX-C) of our school represented the Uttar Pradesh team in this prestigious national-level tournament and performed remarkably well by securing second position in the Federation Cup. This shows their high level of skill and dedication. Their performance in the tournament was excellent, as they secured second position, bringing pride and special recognition to the school and the state.

With their consistent performance, determination, and teamwork, the team delivered an excellent performance and secured second position in the Federation Cup. This achievement highlights their high level of skill, perseverance, and commitment to excellence. Competing at the national level and earning a podium position is a significant accomplishment that has brought great pride and special recognition to both the school and the state.

District and Mandal Level Chess Competition

Aditya Birla Intermediate College, Renukoot successfully organized the District Level Chess Competition on 4th Sept. 2025 and the Mandal Level Chess Competition on 9th Sept. 2025. Both events saw enthusiastic participation and healthy competition among students.

From each category — Under-14, Under-17, and Under-19 — a total of 10 boys and 15 girls were selected to represent in the State Level Chess Competition.

This achievement reflects the school’s continuous commitment to promoting sports alongside academic excellence. By encouraging students to participate in physical activities, the school aims to nurture well-rounded individuals who are confident, disciplined, and resilient.

District Level Badminton and Table Tennis Tournament

Aditya Birla Intermediate College, Renukoot organized the District Level Badminton and Table Tennis Tournament on 7th August 2025. A total of six schools from the district participated with great enthusiasm and sportsmanship.

After a series of competitive matches, the Sonbhadra District Team was selected in the categories of Under-14, Under-17, and Under-19 (Boys and Girls).

The event was conducted successfully under the supervision of experienced officials, and the efforts of Aditya Birla Intermediate College, Renukoot were highly appreciated for its excellent organization and smooth conduct of the tournament

District Level Handball Tournament

Aditya Birla Intermediate College, Renukoot organized the District Handball Tournament on 6th August 2025, which witnessed enthusiastic participation from six schools of the region. The event was conducted with great sportsmanship and teamwork.
Selections for the Sonbhadra District Handball Team were successfully made in the categories of Under-14, Under-17, and Under-19 (Boys and Girls). The tournament provided an excellent platform for young players to showcase their talent and competitive spirit.
The event concluded with appreciation for all participants, and the organizing committee of Aditya Birla Intermediate College, Renukoot, was commended for the smooth conduct of the tournament.

Handball Sub Jr. Open State Championship (21-24 Nov 2025)

The Handball Sub Junior Open State Championship was held at Amethi from 21.11.2025 to 24.11.2025. A team of seven boys from Aditya Birla Intermediate College, Renukoot participated in the championship as part of the Mirzapur Mandal team. The team delivered an excellent performance and secured third position at the state level, bringing pride to the institution and the mandal. The participants were Ayan Khan (XI-A), Rehan Khan (XII-D), Arun Kumar (IX-C), Gaurav Chaubey (IX-A), Ansh Kumar (VIII-C), Aditya Yadav (VII-C), and Anukalp Kanti (VI-C).
A team of seven boys from our school participated in the tournament as part of the Mirzapur Mandal team. Throughout the championship, the players displayed excellent coordination, physical fitness, and a strong competitive spirit. Their disciplined approach, teamwork, and determination enabled them to perform consistently well against strong opponents.
As a result of their hard work and perseverance, the team secured an impressive third position at the state level, bringing pride and honour not only to Aditya Birla Intermediate College, Renukoot, but also to the Mirzapur Mandal.

Junior National Cycle Polo Championship (26-29 Dec 2025)

The Junior National Cycle Polo Championship was organized at Ara (Aara), Bihar from 26.12.2025 to 29.12.2025. In this prestigious national-level event, ten boys from Aditya Birla Intermediate College, Renukoot represented the Uttar Pradesh team and delivered an outstanding performance by securing first position at the national level. The participants were Alok Sonkar (XII-B2), Pushkar Kumar (IX-F), Abhishek Kumar Nishad (X-B), Prince Kumar Gond (X-B), Ayush Kumar (X-A), Satyam Singh (IX-F), Vansh Raj Gupta (IX-F), Aman Kumar (IX-E), Aditya Kumar (VIII-C) and Gourav Kumar (VII-C). The players displayed remarkable determination, strategic understanding of the game, and true sportsmanship throughout the tournament. Their consistent efforts, unity, and commitment played a crucial role in achieving this glorious victory.

Mandal Level Badminton and Table Tennis Tournament

On 13th August 2025, a total of 12 boys from Aditya Birla Intermediate College, Renukoot participated in the Mandal Level Badminton and Table Tennis Tournament held in Mirzapur.
With outstanding performance and sportsmanship, all 12 boys secured selection for the State Level Competition in all three categories — Under-14, Under-17, and Under-19. The students showcased their talent by maintaining high standards of fair play, coordination, and strategic understanding of the game. Their consistent performance across different age groups highlights the strength of sports training and coaching provided by the school.
The achievement reflects the dedication of the players and the effective training and guidance provided by the school.

Mandal Level Football Tournament:

On 14th August 2025, a total of 16 girls from Aditya Birla Intermediate College, Renukoot participated in the Mandal Level Football Tournament held in Mirzapur.

With excellent performance and teamwork, 10 girls from our school were selected to represent in the State Level Football Competition in the Under-19 category. State level football competitions are major sporting events where talented young players from various schools and districts compete against each other. These events usually involve many teams and provide a platform for players to showcase their skills, teamwork, and sportsmanship in front of coaches, selectors, and spectators.

The event highlighted the determination and sports spirit of our players, along with the school’s commitment to promoting sports among students.

Mandal Level Handball Tournament

Aditya Birla Intermediate College, Renukoot organized the Mandal Level Handball Tournament on 12th August 2025, in which teams from Sonbhadra, Bhadohi, and Mirzapur districts participated with great enthusiasm and competitive spirit.

The tournament organised by the school sports committee was an state-of-the-art presentation.  After a series of exciting matches, the Mirzapur Mandal Handball Team was selected for the state level in the categories of Under-14, Under-17, and Under-19 (Boys and Girls).

A matter of great pride for the esteemed  institution, a total of 12 boys and 12 girls from Aditya Birla Intermediate College, Renukoot have been selected to represent the Mandal team in the upcoming State Level Handball Competition.

Mandal Level Volleyball Tournament

On the first of September 2025, a total of 9 boys from Aditya Birla Intermediate College, Renukoot participated in the Mandal Level Volleyball Tournament held at Hasipur, Mirzapur organised by Uttar Pradesh Government.
With strong performance and teamwork, 2 boys from our school Master Aditya Kumar Mishra class XII and Master Abhishek Yadav were selected to represent in the State Level Competition in the Under-19 category. The event showcased excellent sportsmanship, team-work and the dedication of our players, reflecting the school’s commitment to promoting sports.

Their selection is the result of consistent practice, dedication and a deep passion for sports. Throughout the selection process and competitions, both players displayed exceptional skills, strategic thinking, and a cooperative spirit. Their ability to work together as a team played a crucial role in their success and impressed coaches as well as selectors.
