Holistic Development Through Co-Curricular Activities

Every activity in school life plays an important role in holistic development of students. Co- curricular activities are those activities that are undertaken along with academics. Aditya Birla Public School, Sidhi helps students to develop problem solving, reasoning, critical thinking, creative thinking, communication and collaborative abilities through these activities. A brief report on the activities, organizedin the school since April 2024 to October 2024.

Students Parliament

November 06, 2024

Parliament activity was conducted for grades VI – XII on 06/11/2024 by Social Science department. The purpose of the activity was to replicate the structure and working procedures adopted in Indian parliament. The students acted as elected members of the parliament and discussed various important issues.

Bhajan Gayan Competition

Bhajan Gayan Competition was organized for grades IV-IX on 17/12/2024 to expose our students to music, while also enhancing their language and presentation skills by Hindi department.

Maths Count and Match Activity

Maths Count and Match Activity was held for grades LKG-UKG on 22/01/2025 to help children develop a strong foundation in numeracy, including counting, number recognition and understanding quantities.

Book Safari

Book Safari is a joyful and engaging co-curricular activity designed to develop reading habits and curiosity among students. In this activity, students explored a variety of books related to stories, science, nature, culture, and general knowledge. The activity encouraged learners to discover new ideas, characters, and information beyond their textbooks.

Through Book Safari, students enhanced their imagination, vocabulary, and critical thinking skills. The activity also promoted a love for books and helped students understand the importance of reading for lifelong learning. Overall, Book Safari created an enjoyable learning environment where students learned while exploring the wonderful world of books.

Painting Activity

The Painting Activity was organized to encourage creativity, imagination, and self-expression among students. During the activity, students enthusiastically used colors to express their thoughts, emotions, and ideas on paper. The activity provided a platform for learners to showcase their artistic skills and explore different color combinations and themes.

This activity helped students improve their fine motor skills, concentration, and aesthetic sense. Painting also promoted confidence and originality while making learning joyful and stress-free. Overall, the activity nurtured creativity and inspired students to appreciate art as an important form of expression.

Sports Activity

The Sports Activity was conducted to promote physical fitness, teamwork, and a healthy lifestyle among students. Various indoor and outdoor games were organized, allowing students to actively participate and showcase their sportsmanship and enthusiasm.

Through this activity, students learned the values of discipline, cooperation, leadership, and fair play. Regular involvement in sports helps in physical development as well as mental well-being. The Sports Activity created an energetic and positive environment, encouraging students to stay active and develop a lifelong interest in fitness and sports

Mime Activity

The Mime Activity was organized to enhance students’ non-verbal communication skills, creativity, and confidence. In this activity, students expressed ideas, emotions, and social messages through gestures, facial expressions, and body movements without using words.

Mime helped students develop observation skills, imagination, and teamwork. It also encouraged them to convey meaningful messages such as social awareness, discipline, and moral values in an engaging manner. The activity provided an enjoyable platform for students to explore the power of expression beyond spoken language.

Moot Court Activity

The Moot Court Activity was organized to provide students with an understanding of the judicial system and legal procedures. In this activity, students enacted a courtroom setting by assuming roles such as judge, lawyers, and witnesses, and presented arguments on a given case.

The activity helped students develop critical thinking, logical reasoning, public speaking, and confidence. It also created awareness about law, justice, and constitutional values. Overall, the Moot Court Activity offered experiential learning and encouraged students to think analytically while understanding the importance of justice in society.

Nukkad Natak (Street Play)

The Nukkad Natak (Street Play) activity was organized to spread social awareness and develop students’ communication and acting skills. Through powerful dialogues, expressions, and live performance, students conveyed important social messages such as cleanliness, education, environmental protection, and social responsibility.

This activity helped students build confidence, teamwork, and a sense of social commitment. Nukkad Natak encouraged students to connect with society and understand real-life issues while performing in an engaging and impactful manner.

Saraswati Puja

Saraswati Puja was celebrated with great devotion and enthusiasm in the school premises. The puja was organized to seek the blessings of Goddess Saraswati, the deity of knowledge, wisdom, music, and art. Teachers and students participated wholeheartedly in the rituals, prayers, and offerings.

The celebration highlighted the importance of education, discipline, and cultural values. It created a spiritual and peaceful atmosphere in the school and inspired students to respect learning and knowledge. The event strengthened cultural awareness and promoted a sense of unity and devotion among students.

Parent Interaction Session
