Top Sports Achievements – 2024-25

ABPS Awarpur takes immense pride in the outstanding sportsmanship, dedication and perseverance shown by its students across Taluka, District, State, National, and ABG-level competitions during the academic year 2024-25. With participation in over 10 different sporting disciplines and more than 200 students taking part in competitive events, our school continues to uphold a strong tradition of holistic development through sports.

State-Level Glory

Girls’ Hockey (U-14)

(25–30 November 2024)

In their maiden appearance at the State Level Hockey Tournament, our U-14 Girls’ team, led by Captain Priyanshi Santosh Yede (IX-B), delivered a powerful performance by securing 4th place.

National-Level Participation

Football (U-15 Boys)

Bangalore (10–11 August 2024)

A team of 7 students represented ABPS at the National Invitational 6-a-side Football Tournament, showcasing skill and teamwork. The team was recognized as ‘Best Team’ for their competitive spirit and sportsmanship.

SGFI National Hockey (U-14 Girls)

Mandsore, Madhya Pradesh (9–13 December 2024)

  • Aradhya Khiratkar (VII-B) brought honour to the school by representing the Maharashtra State Hockey Team at the 68th SGFI National Hockey Championship.
  • Yashpreet Kale (Class VII-A) participated in the State-Level U-14 Boys Hockey National Selection Trials held at Islampur, District Sangli.

ABG National Chess Tournament

Uppala Purnachand (IX-A) and Vyshnavi Veerla (IX-B) qualified for the final round of the prestigious ABG National Chess Tournament, held in Nagda, Madhya Pradesh on 18–19 October 2024.

Taluka, District & Division-Level Highlights

The school participated in a broad range of sports including: Chess, Football, Table Tennis, Volleyball, Athletics, Badminton, Hockey and Shaley Hockey.

New Additions:

This year, the school introduced Basketball, Gymnastics, and Silambam as part of its official sports disciplines.

  • In Gymnastics, the team secured 4th place at the Division Level.

  • In Silambam, the team went on to win multiple medals at the State Level.
