Co-Curricular Activities

Co-Curricular activities play a significant role in the mental and physical development of students .Taking into account, we the teachers of Sardar Patel Vidyalaya structured and balanced with the academic curriculum so that every student gets the opportunity to learn beyond studies. These activities help students to develop social skills, intellectual skills, moral values etc. and also allow students to engage in the learning experiences.

Poster Making Competition

To bring out the creative expression of the students and also to gauge their awareness quotient, Poster Making and Slogan Writing Competition was conducted on 29 June, 2024 for the students of classes III to XII. The themes taken up for above mentioned activity were:

Hindi Handwriting and Calligraphy

Hindi handwriting and Hindi Calligraphy Competition was conducted on 27th of July, 2024.

  • Students of Classes III to V participated in Hindi handwriting with a lot of zeal and excitement. The objective of this competition was to motivate students to enhance their writing skills. It provided a platform for the students to showcase their writing competency and develop their fine motor skills. The teachers gave a paragraph from the text to be written. The assessment was done by the teachers on the basis of Letter Formation, Punctuation and Spellings, Spacing and Sizing, Line awareness and Neatness.

  • Hindi Calligraphy Competition was organized for the students of Classes VI to XII. The students participated in it with great enthusiasm and fervour. The aim of this competition was to motivate students to enhance their art of writing skills. The students exhibited their writing skills through different forms of calligraphic fonts. The assessment was done by a select panel of teachers on the basis of Creativity, Punctuation and Spellings, Spacing and Sizing, Calligraphy strokes /fonts and Neatness.

Inter House Display Board Competition and Presentation

The Inter House Display Board Competition was held on Friday, July 26, 2024. The aim of the competition is to increase research skills to gather information, the team work, coordination and the time management in the students.

Students were meant to decorate the allotted soft boards with relevant content on the topic Climate Change’. Students depicted their thoughts, understanding and information in creative manner about the ongoing increase in global average temperature and its effects on Earth’s climate system. Students covered several areas such as global climate change, agricultural, health, pollution etc.

The students demonstrated their creativity, knowledge, understanding and skills through presentation. A lot of eagerness reflected on their presentations. The Environment Dept. Head of UTCL Mr.Anant Singh Chauhan highly impressed by the presentation showcased by the participants.

The House Boards were judged on the following Criterion:

1. Theme Justification

2. Clarity and coherence of the content

3. Innovation and Creativity

4. Organization

5. Overall Presentation

The first position was bagged by 'Arun House'. The second position was secured by 'Ravi House’ and the third position was taken by 'Bhaskar House'.

INTER HOUSE DEBATE COMPETITION

SPV, Sewagram always thrives to cater to the all-round development of its students. With this intention in mind an Inter House Debate Competition was held for the students of Classes IX to XII on Saturday, on 24th August, 2024.The objective of the this competition was to make the students confident and better orators so that they can fearlessly express their views on the topic.

‘Developing Artificial Intelligence will be Detrimental in Long Term’

The participants delivered their speeches with great confidence and left no stone unturned to give in their best on the topics they got. They were asked to present their views in the time slot of 2- 2.5 minutes. The judges found it very taxing to select the best three students from all the 16 passionate participants in each group. They were judged on the criteria of content, expression, delivery and overall presentation. The students showed great fervor and poise in their respective presentation. The competition concluded successfully with great words of encouragement and appreciation from the judge, Principal Mr. Anshuman Saxena.
